Local visibility starts with eligibility and accurate details
Check whether a business is eligible before optimizing a Google Business Profile. Google says profiles are for businesses that make in-person contact with customers during stated hours; online-only businesses are not eligible. A service-area business that does not receive customers at its address can hide that address and list the areas it actually serves. Review Google's eligibility rules, profile guidelines and service-area guidance before applying.
A practical Egypt checklist
- Eligibility: Is there genuine in-person customer contact? Do not use a virtual office or mailbox as a listing.
- Business type: A customer-facing location shows its real address; a service-area business follows the service-area rules and may hide the address.
- Accuracy: Use the real-world business name, suitable category, working hours, phone and correct website.
- Coverage: List only areas the team can actually serve, not a collection of cities chosen for search reach.
- Website: Keep contact and service pages consistent without publishing interchangeable city pages.
- Reviews: Ask for honest feedback after service without rewards or filtering for positive reviews.
If the company operates online only and does not meet customers in person, do not work around profile eligibility; focus on appropriate service pages and organic search. An eligible, accurate profile does not guarantee visibility or a particular position. Competition and context remain outside a marketer's control.
Before work, establish the business type, how customers are met, real service areas and profile ownership. Do not send sensitive verification documents through a public article or ordinary message. Scope a review through local SEO and Google Maps.
